| Leopard Pictures, Leopard facts, information and photos on leopards
Welcome to Leopard-Pictures.com. Here you will find the largest
collection of all sorts of leopard pictures. The leopard population around the world has
shrunk significantly in recent years, making photographs of leopards more of a treasure,
hence one of the reasons we created this web site about leopard pictures.
As you can see in our menu on the left we have several categories of
leopard pictures, we have covered the vast majority of leopard species on this website.
You can use these pictures for your own use, for example if you are doing a project on
leopards at school, you can download one of our pictures and use it in your school
project. We have no objections to that.
We hope you enjoy our web site on leopard pictures. We will be
adding new leopard pictures soon. This page also contains general information on leopards.
The leopard (Panthera pardus) is a member of the Felidae
family and the smallest of the four "big cats" in the genus Panthera; the other
three are the tiger, lion and jaguar. Once distributed across southern Asia and Africa,
from Korea to South Africa, the leopard's range of distribution has decreased radically
over time due to hunting and loss of habitat, and the leopard now chiefly occurs in
sub-Saharan Africa. There are fragmented populations in Pakistan, India, Indochina,
Malaysia, and China. Due to the loss of range and continual declines in population, the
cat has been downgraded to "Near Threatened" species; its numbers are greater
than that of the other Panthera species, all of which face more acute conservation
concerns.

We hope you enjoy all our different leopard pictures.
